In the late Nineties Hoechst AG of Frankfurt Germany was divided into so many companies that used to be divisions in the old company.

One of these companies became Nutrinova Nutrition Specialities and Food Ingredients GmbH, manufacturing Food Preservatives and Non Nutritive Sweetener.

In 1999, under an initial working arrangement Nutrichem Nigeria was formed to stock and sell these Preservatives to a then very small market in Nigeria. From a 20mt per annum market, the Sorbate market has grown to over 200mt per annum.
